Good afternoon Asbell Parents,
For the safety of our students, we have made a few adjustments to Walker Dismissal. The following procedures will begin today. We ask for your patience and understanding as we work through the changes. Our highest priority is student safety. We need to identify parents picking up students.
True walkers, those who live in the walk zone, will be escorted to the Sang crosswalk and dismissed by our crossing guards at 3:00. Parents please meet this group at the Sang stop sign/crosswalk area. You will be asked to show the orange dismissal tag with the unique number assigned to the child. We have half-pages, or new wallet-sized passes for your convenience.
Other parents meeting their child at the walker door will be asked to show their orange dismissal tag before the student is dismissed from the building. We will call students from the building as quickly as possible. Have your orange dismissal tag out and visible.
For the rest of this week, we will have staff available to check IDs and assign orange dismissal tags at the walker door for those without one. We know this will add more minutes to your pick-up. As with all of our dismissal procedures, we will get faster and faster with time. Starting August 21st, we will have any parents without the orange dismissal tag go to the office to pick up students and get a tag.
We encourage you to utilize the car-rider lane or consider taking advantage of our fantastic bus services!
